Cloud based, point of sale and inventory control.
The Point-Of-Sale or POS system that I use is the Zettel App. it’s a PayPal service. I use PayPal for every phase of my business; from shipping, inventory control, sales tax, POS Bluetooth card reader, PayPal payments, Venmo and invoicing. You can find the Zettel App in the App store.
My inventory information is in the Zettel cloud-based inventory software. The Zettel inventory system is setup using my PC. All my inventory information is cloud based and is accessible using my cell phone.
Point of sale using the Zettel app with my iPhone:
I can see the photos of my inventory. I can select the image or scan the bar code on the price tag. It loads the item into the Zettel shopping cart. I click on the cart icon. The customer puts their credit card into the card reader and signs on my phone. When the card reader shows approved it tells the customer to remove their card. Then my Bluetooth printer prints the receipt with all my business information.
Barcode Codes:
I use the barcode “Code 39”. I use 6 numbers to make up the code for my inventory. The first four numbers are used to identify my categories. The first four numbers are the numeric representation of the position of the letters in the alphabet.
Men ring MR=1318, Women Ring WR=2318, Bracelet BR=0218, Pendant PN=1614, Earring Stud ES=0519, Earring Wire EW=0523, Earring Hoop EH=0508 etc...
A=1, B=2, C=3, D=4, E=5, F=6, G=7 H=8, I=9, J=10, K=11, L=12, M=13, N=14, O=15, P=16 Q=17, R=18, S=19, T=20, U=21, V=22, W=23 X=24, Y=25, Z=26
The last two numbers in the code are used for identification of the individual items. This allows me to have 01-99 items in each category. I can inter the two-letter code MR for men’s ring to see the category or the Sku. MR08 to see the 8th item in the category. I can scan the price tag barcode to find the item. 131808 is the number used to generate the barcode for this item.
